Founder, The Rallying Cry and Managing Director, Sustainable Finance Advisory

Carey Bohjanen operates at the interface between finance, business and society to build more inclusive, equitable and sustainable economies. She drives transformational change, leveraging collective wisdom and untapped potential of people and capital. Carey connects leaders to purpose and passion to develop catalytic, forward-looking responses to our planet’s greatest challenges, particularly gender inequality and climate change. 

She is the founder of The Rallying Cry initiative to catalyse private sector investment in gender and climate in Africa. Her objective is to shift capital by connecting women climate entrepreneurs and capital allocators. She also shifts narratives by moving inspiring women business leaders on the front lines of climate change to the forefront of climate leadership.

She previously served as the co-lead for the DFI Gender Finance Collaborative (now the 2X Collaborative), works closely with the GenderSmart Climate and Gender Working Group, the 2X Climate and Gender Finance Task Force team and sits on the Climate School Advisory Group. Carey has a BA, international MBA and a juris doctor. She delivered successful projects in over 50 countries prior to the pandemic. For two years she managed her global empire from her dining room table in Dubai in her pajamas but is now back to travelling and meeting people in 3D.
